Charles Bonnet syndrome

Various visual hallucinations can sometimes be seen in the eyes of people who have lost their vision or have a sharp decrease. These people have no psychiatric illness. On the contrary, patients know that the hallucinations they see are not real, and in many cases they don’t tell anyone about hallucinations because of the fear of being labeled “mentally ill.”
